Similiar games

Casualties Unknown is a 2D survival simulation game about exploring a dangerous cave system on an alien planet. The player controls a vulnerable test subject sent below the surface to recover lost cargo. The game focuses on movement, injuries, supplies, crafting, and risk management. It is built around slow decision-making, because one small mistake can damage the body, waste resources, or end the run.

Story and Mission

The story begins with a forced expedition into the Target Planet’s cave network. The character is not a trained hero, but a subject sent into a place where survival is unlikely. The mission is to descend, locate the important cargo, and continue despite injuries, fear, and limited supplies. The plot is mostly told through the situation, the environment, and the consequences of each failed attempt.

Layers and Survival Systems

Casualties Unknown does not use standard platform levels. Progress is divided into cave layers, where each layer adds new terrain, hazards, creatures, and survival problems. The demo contains part of the full planned descent, so the player learns the main systems before reaching the deeper sections of the game.

The game includes several main elements:

  •         cave exploration on an alien planet;
  •         simulated limb injuries and blood loss;
  •         crafting from found materials;
  •         mood, health, and survival condition management;
  •         many items to discover during runs;
  •         permanent death after serious mistakes.

Gameplay is based on careful exploration. The player moves through caves, climbs, searches containers, collects resources, treats wounds, and avoids hazards. Falling too far, bleeding, infection, poor timing, or wasted supplies can make the run harder. The game expects the player to prepare, observe, and react before a problem becomes impossible to fix.

To play, the player uses keyboard and mouse controls to move, interact, manage inventory, and handle medical or crafting actions. Progress comes from learning how the body systems work, understanding which items are useful, and choosing when to move forward or stop. The best approach is cautious movement, regular condition checks, and using resources before damage becomes permanent.
