The Last Tale Told: Spam is a first-person psychological horror game developed and published by Zignus. The protagonist lives alone, works from home, and has remained inside for several days because of continuous rain. An unknown number begins calling the phone repeatedly, but the screen marks it as a suspected scam. What initially appears to be an ordinary spam call gradually becomes the beginning of a disturbing chain of events inside the apartment.

A Routine That Slowly Changes

The story progresses through simple household responsibilities. Players move around the home, interact with furniture and electronic devices, and complete the current task before receiving the next objective. The telephone and computer play important roles, while small changes in familiar rooms suggest that the caller may know more about the protagonist than expected. VHS and CRT filters give the game an intentionally distorted visual style.

The environment uses physics-based interaction, allowing certain objects to be picked up and thrown. Keys are hidden around the map and appear to provide access to concealed content, although the official description deliberately hides their exact purpose. Careful exploration is therefore useful even when the current household task points toward another part of the apartment.

Tasks Inside the Apartment

During the game, players can:

  •         Answer or reject suspicious phone calls
  •         Complete household objectives
  •         Use the protagonist’s computer
  •         Pick up and throw interactive objects
  •         Search rooms for hidden keys
  •         Observe changes in the apartment
  •         Play the Pizza Pizza Faster Pizza minigame
  •         Make progress toward two possible endings

The included minigame requires the player to deliver pizzas to customers while avoiding obstacles placed throughout its levels. Achievements provide additional optional objectives outside the main horror story.

Reaching a Different Ending

The Last Tale Told: Spam does not use combat, character upgrades, or a traditional sequence of action levels. Progress comes from following instructions, examining the environment, interacting with devices, and discovering how the repeated calls connect to the protagonist’s situation. The game has two endings, so completing it once may not reveal every outcome.

Keyboard and mouse are used for first-person movement, camera control, and interaction. The game is a short Windows experience, with its itch.io page estimating an average session of about half an hour. It was released on July 6, 2026, as the first story in a planned psychological horror anthology about people marked by unusual experiences.
