Feed The Pit is a linear investigative horror game with a story-driven structure. The player is sent to Carrister Valley, a wooded area where each mission is focused on finding and killing a specific wealthy target. The main goal is connected to The Pit, an entity or force that demands to be fed. The game begins with Act 1 available at launch, while Acts 2 and 3 are planned as free updates after release.
The main gameplay is based on magical cards. Each card asks a specific question about the target’s location. By choosing cards and reading the answers, the player gradually removes wrong locations from the map until only one possible place remains. The investigation is not completely open-ended, because the player has a limited hand of cards and must work with the options given during that mission.
Feed The Pit does not use traditional levels in the form of separate platform stages or combat arenas. Instead, progress is divided into story acts and investigation missions. Each mission sends the player into a new situation with a target, a map, limited information, and a monster threat. The structure is linear, but the investigations can change because card choices and target locations may differ from one attempt to another.
The game includes several core elements:
Every mission includes a monster that acts as the main danger for that day. The player does not immediately know how each creature behaves. To survive, the player has to observe its actions, test risks carefully, and learn what causes danger. This makes each investigation partly about information management. The player must continue narrowing down the target’s location while also avoiding the monster and understanding its rules.
The story introduces E.C.C., a group connected to The Pit and its Chosen Circle. The player is invited into this organization and becomes part of a larger purpose involving murder, control, and a new order. The plot is described as complex and branching, so player decisions may affect how the story develops. To play Feed The Pit effectively, the player needs to use cards logically, track information, manage limited choices, watch monster behavior, and decide how far to follow the demands of The Pit.
