A simple machine-removal assignment becomes a longer journey when P enters the enormous industrial complex of Motorslice. She works as a Slicer and carries a chainsaw designed for dismantling hostile equipment. Her companion is Orbie, a damaged floating drone that illuminates dark spaces and communicates with her. Together, they move through abandoned structures filled with autonomous machines, traps, and blocked passages.

Inside the Megastructure

The story begins with P arriving to complete a routine job: enter the facility, destroy its machines, and leave. As she explores deeper areas, it becomes clear that the assignment involves more than ordinary construction equipment. Narrative details appear through conversations and over thirty interactive rest sequences. These quieter sections allow P to talk with Orbie, pause between dangerous areas, and reveal more information about their relationship and the megastructure.

How Traversal and Fighting Work

Movement is central to every chapter. Players guide P across concrete ruins by running along walls, sliding beneath obstacles, climbing ledges, crouching through openings, and jumping between platforms. The chainsaw is not limited to attacks; it also helps P cross specific barriers and reach distant points. Maintaining momentum is important because many routes combine moving platforms, falling objects, narrow surfaces, and timed hazards.

Core activities found throughout Motorslice include:

  •         Following parkour routes through different industrial zones
  •         Cutting smaller machines with the chainsaw
  •         Parrying attacks before delivering a counterattack
  •         Moving objects to solve physics-based puzzles
  •         Climbing large machines during boss encounters

Campaign Structure and Progression

The campaign is divided into a prologue, eight chapters, and an epilogue. Locations include a ruined city, elevated roads, a sand pit, a quarry, agricultural fields, a large excavation zone, and upper sections of the structure. Each main chapter leads to a colossal machine battle. These encounters feature construction vehicles such as dump trucks, cranes, excavators, and harvesting equipment.

To defeat a boss, players must first study its movement and avoid attacks that can quickly kill P. The next step usually involves finding climbable components, reaching weak points, and cutting important parts while the machine remains active. Smaller battles use the same risk-based combat system, where accurate timing matters more than repeated attacks. Checkpoints reduce lost progress after failure. Effective play requires combining movement and combat instead of treating them separately: dodge through open space, parry predictable strikes, use vertical routes, and examine the environment whenever the direct path is blocked.
