VHOLUME turns a trip across the capital into a long sequence of movement challenges built around speed, route choice, and exploration. Robert is trying to recover ration tickets that were taken from his family, forcing him to travel through a city controlled by a powerful Ministry. The story is tied directly to this journey, so new parts of the capital open as Robert gets closer to the offices and institutions connected to his goal.
Running is only the starting point. Robert can jump, slide, climb, and connect different moves together to cross large structures without losing speed. Many areas are built vertically, with ledges, walls, narrow platforms, gaps, and routes that are not immediately obvious. A safe path usually exists, but faster options often require more precise movement. Once players understand how a level is arranged, they can begin cutting corners, linking jumps, and using the environment to reduce the time needed to reach the exit.
The main route passes through different districts and structures, with each area changing the type of parkour required. Some stages use dense apartment blocks, while others move into underground or industrial spaces. Optional B-Side levels provide additional versions of the movement challenges and can require a different approach from the main stages.
The journey includes locations such as:
Exploration matters because the fastest route is not always the most visible one. Hidden passages and shortcuts can let experienced players avoid slower sections, while collectibles encourage searching areas that are not required for a basic completion. Some collectibles are also connected to additional B-Side content, giving players a reason to revisit stages after reaching the end once.
Completing a stage is only one part of the progression. Levels also include target times, turning them into repeatable time trials where small improvements in movement can make a difference. Ghost runs can show how another attempt moves through the same area, helping players notice alternative jumps or faster lines. The more familiar a level becomes, the more the focus shifts from simply reaching the finish to maintaining momentum from one obstacle to the next.
VHOLUME therefore combines a dystopian journey with parkour-based level design. The story gives Robert a reason to keep moving across the city, while the gameplay rewards learning layouts, finding shortcuts, collecting hidden items, opening optional stages, and repeatedly refining routes until each section can be crossed with less hesitation and better timing.
