Endoparasitic is a tactical survival horror game developed by Deep Root Interactive and created by Miziziziz. The game takes place inside a remote asteroid research facility where a parasitic outbreak has transformed humans and animals into hostile creatures. Players control Cynte, a scientist who survives the initial attack but loses three of his limbs during the outbreak. With only one arm remaining and a parasite slowly spreading through his body, Cynte must move through the facility while searching for vaccines, weapons, and research data.
One of the main features of Endoparasitic is its mouse-only control system. Every action, including movement, reloading, aiming, and interaction, is performed manually using Cynte’s remaining arm. Players drag the character across the floor while simultaneously managing weapons and avoiding enemies. Reloading is also manual, requiring ammunition to be inserted one bullet at a time during combat encounters. This creates constant pressure during exploration and fights.
The parasite inside Cynte acts as both a narrative element and a gameplay mechanic. It slowly progresses toward the brain over time, effectively functioning as a decreasing health system. Vaccines temporarily slow the infection, while enemy attacks accelerate the parasite’s movement. Resource management becomes important because ammunition and vaccines are limited throughout the facility. Players must decide when to fight, avoid enemies, or conserve supplies for later encounters.
The game uses a top-down perspective combined with low-resolution visuals and detailed sound design to create tension. The research facility contains laboratories, maintenance tunnels, and storage sections connected through narrow corridors. Environmental storytelling appears through notes, computer logs, and voice communication with other survivors. Stealth sections are also included, forcing players to move slowly to avoid detection from sound-sensitive enemies.
Replayability comes from higher difficulty settings, optional achievements, and the Endemic roguelike mode introduced after release. Hard mode changes enemy behavior, reduces available resources, and removes most save opportunities. Players often revisit the game to improve survival efficiency or experiment with different combat approaches. The unusual control system and limited resources make repeated playthroughs significantly different depending on player strategy.
