Brick Rigs is a physics sandbox where players build vehicles from individual bricks and test them in open environments. A creation may be a car, truck, tank, aircraft, helicopter, train, construction machine, or something that does not fit an ordinary category. There is no fixed storyline or required campaign. Instead, players choose whether to construct, drive, race, organize battles, perform rescue operations, or experiment with destruction.

Building a Working Vehicle

The vehicle editor contains structural bricks, wheels, engines, seats, hinges, weapons, lights, and other functional parts. Every important component must be positioned and connected correctly before the creation is tested. Players can adjust dimensions, colours, controls, and mechanical connections, then spawn the finished vehicle directly into a sandbox map. Large or complicated builds may require several revisions before they can drive, steer, fly, or remain balanced.

Vehicles are affected by dynamic physics and can lose parts after collisions, falls, or attacks. A poorly protected wheel may break away during a crash, while damaged doors, bumpers, wings, and body panels can separate from the main structure. Recent updates have also expanded connection options and improved the construction system for movable parts.

Activities Across the Sandbox

After spawning a creation, players can enter its seat and control it from first-person or third-person views. The available activities include:

  •         Building vehicles from individual bricks
  •         Testing steering, suspension, and stability
  •         Driving through cities and open terrain
  •         Flying aircraft and helicopters
  •         Using tanks and mounted weapons
  •         Organizing races and police chases
  •         Performing firefighting or rescue scenarios
  •         Downloading community creations from Steam Workshop

Players who do not want to construct everything themselves can use vehicles shared by other members of the community. Steam Workshop contains many downloadable machines and provides a faster way to try different designs.

Solo Experiments and Multiplayer Sessions

Brick Rigs supports single-player sandbox activity and online multiplayer. Servers may focus on role-playing, racing, construction, vehicle battles, or unrestricted destruction. One player can operate a fire engine while others create an emergency, organize a police pursuit, or test several military vehicles against each other. The game does not use traditional numbered levels or permanent character development.

Movement and basic driving use keyboard and mouse controls, but additional vehicle actions depend on how the creator configured the build. A machine may have separate inputs for doors, lights, weapons, landing gear, or rotating parts. Progress comes from learning the editor, improving designs, discovering community creations, and producing vehicles that behave correctly under the game’s physics and destruction systems.
